Our Values

Above all, we seek to be genuine in our faith, in our relationships, and in our service to Christ and to one another.

The Lord Jesus has given us a model of humility to follow that recognizes the reality of our dependence upon God and our need for one another.

The goal of faith is love; learning to love God, ourselves, and our neighbors is our highest priority in the kingdom of God.

The Bible

We acknowledge the supreme value of the truth revealed in the Bible, and our desire is to grow in our ability to both understand and apply its saving truth in our lives.

The Christian life sets us on a journey forward increasing integrity.  By God's grace and transforming power, we desire for all the pieces of our lives to be brought together into the kind of wholeness and holiness that pleases God.

A Prophetic Heart

God continues to speak to issues and individuals today by the gifting of His Spirit in the church.  We need and desire to hear the voice for the Spirit in our midst today.

The historic confessions of our faith acknowledge that humanity's great purpose is "to know God and glorify Him forever."  Through our worship, we are expressing this purpose in the present tense, knowing that he is truly worthy of all the attention, affection, and honor we could ever offer him.

Active Faith

Our relationship with Jesus convinces us to not just believe the truth, but to also put His truth into practice in our lives.  Active faith compels us to serve the continuing work of Jesus by embracing His ministry to the poor, the hurting, the sick, and the lost.  Every person in the church has a part to play in this work by praying, giving, and serving in the strength of God and the gifts of His Spirit.

We recognize that we are just one small part of the larger gathering of Jesus' church in our community and across the earth.  It is our desire to walk in real unity with one another and with believers everywhere as we serve Christ's cause.

What We Believe

Church on the Rock is a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.  We Believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

We Believe

The Bible to be the inspired Word of God, without error and the only authority for faith and life.
In one God, existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His glory.
That mankind is sinful, at war with God, deserving penalty.
That Jesus Christ paid the penalty for the sin of mankind by dying on the cross, and that He was physically raised from the dead.
That by grace we are saved through faith in Christ's death on the Cross, and this salvation is the gift of God.
That the Holy Spirit lives in the believer of Christ, also the baptism of the Holy Spirit and all of His gifts are available to the believer.
In the soon return of Jesus Christ, the gathering of all believers, and the establishment of His kingdom on earth.
In the resurrection of the living and the dead to eternity, the judgment seat of Christ, with believers heaven bound and non-believers lost to eternal penalty in hell.

We Believe that worship Is

We remain flexible and yielded to the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

We give a great place to music in our worship.

Our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching of the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshiped.

We look for His Love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
